I hope you are having a fantastic New Year so far!
Dear Hearts, the violence we witnessed on Capitol Hill, Wednesday, January 6th, 2021 was disgusting to me and truly made me pray for our country and the state of the world we are living in. Ladies and gentlemen, we saw something unprecedented as armed people who disagreed with an election breached the nation’s capital protesting. This was beyond anything I have viewed in my lifetime. However, this situation demands clarity and resolve. This made me realize it’s time for the prayer warriors and intercessors to pray even more because our country is under attack.
We as believers can’t conform to the pattern of this world because we are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. We must not focus on political parties, but we must focus on Jesus who is the ruler of everything. Now is the time for us to readjust our spiritual lenses and start seeing what God is trying to do in the spirit. It’s time for us to love each other more. The bible tells us in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” The USA needs healing and we must do it according to His Word.
In uncertain times, it’s so tempting to have our focus on the news, on different statistics, on other people’s situations, or on what other people are doing. However, we must put our hope and security in the Lord and not make idols out of material things. With all that is going on around us today from the global pandemic to the election, we can take great comfort in knowing that God is so much bigger than any other power in the whole earth.
We must stay focused because the driving force behind the news is to capture your attention and one of the primary ways that media does that is through inciting fear. If the news can make you anxious and afraid, then you’re more likely to check in often to read articles or listen to the news. Ladies and gentlemen, when you are anxious just know we have a father who sits up high and looks down low.
Psalm 121:1-4 says: “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.”
We must remember that God is our help in uncertain times, and He is the One with the answers. Most importantly, I want all of you to stay safe. Please take care of yourselves and your loved ones as we await to see a turnaround in our country.
